Guidelines to Authors

Plagiarism & Publication Ethics Guidelines

VNSGU Journal of Management and Administration (JOMA) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. Authors must ensure that their submissions are original and free from plagiarism in any form.

1. Acceptable Similarity Level

  • A manuscript is considered eligible for review only if the similarity index is below 10% (excluding references, bibliography, and quoted text with proper citation).
  • Similarity between 10% and 20% will require revision and resubmission.
  • Manuscripts with more than 20% plagiarism will be rejected outright.

2. Types of Plagiarism Prohibited

The following practices constitute plagiarism and are strictly prohibited:
  • Copying text, ideas, images, data, or tables without acknowledgment.
  • Self-plagiarism (publishing the same work or substantial parts of earlier published work without disclosure).
  • Submitting someone else’s work or a previously published manuscript.

3. Author Responsibility

By submitting a manuscript, authors affirm that:
  • The work is original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
  • All sources are properly cited.
  • Permissions have been obtained for reproduced or adapted material, if applicable.

Manuscript Formatting Guidelines

Authors are requested to ensure that their perspective papers, research papers, articles, and case studies conform to the following formatting requirements before submission to the Editorial Board.

3. Tables
  • Tables should be numbered sequentially in Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, …).
  • Table title: 9 pt, Bold, Title Case, Center Aligned.
  • Column headings: 9 pt, Bold, Title Case.
  • Table text: 9 pt, Regular.
3. References
  • Follow APA style of referencing (7th edition preferred).
  • Font Size: 9 pt
  • Arrangement: Alphabetical order
  • Hanging Indent: 0.3”

Additional Notes
  • Manuscripts not following the above guidelines may be returned to the author for correction prior to review.
  • Authors must ensure that their submissions are original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

Review & Acceptance Criteria (Peer Review Policy)

All manuscripts submitted to VNSGU Journal of Management and Administration (JOMA) undergo a peer review process to ensure the highest standards of academic quality and ethical publication.

Review Process
1. Preliminary Screening

The editorial team initially evaluates submissions for originality, plagiarism compliance, scope alignment, and formatting. Manuscripts not meeting these requirements may be returned to the authors for correction before review.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review

Eligible manuscripts are sent to independent subject-matter reviewers, with both authors’ and reviewers’ identities kept confidential to ensure impartiality.

3. Reviewer Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers assess manuscripts based on:

  • Relevance to management and administration disciplines
  • Originality and contribution to knowledge
  • Theoretical rigor and/or practical applicability
  • Research design, methodology, and data accuracy
  • Clarity of arguments, coherence, and literature support
  • Accuracy of citations and references
4. Decision Categories

Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial board may issue one of the following decisions:

  • Accept
  • Accept with Minor Revisions
  • Revise and Resubmit (Major Revisions)
  • Reject
Final Acceptance

A manuscript is formally accepted only after:

  • All suggested revisions are satisfactorily incorporated
  • Final approval is granted by the Editor-in-Chief / Editorial Board

The journal reserves the right to make final editorial revisions to ensure clarity, consistency, and publication quality.
